Assistant Designer - Home

As an Assistant Designer, you will have the opportunity to work alongside our talented design team to bring our vision for home products to life. In this role, you will play a crucial role in assisting with the design, development, and production of our home merchandise. We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of design principles and trends. Assist with the design and development of home merchandise for Macy's, ensuring that all products align with our brand and aesthetic. Collaborate with the design team to bring innovative and trend-setting ideas to the table. Conduct market research to stay current on design trends and gather inspiration for new product ideas. Assist with creating and updating design sketches, technical drawings, and product specifications. Work closely with cross-functional teams including product development, sourcing, and merchandising to ensure timely and accurate execution of designs. Help manage the sample development process, including tracking timelines, reviewing samples, and providing feedback. Support the design team in creating presentations and mood boards for product lines. Participate in product development meetings and provide creative input and suggestions. Ensure that all designs meet quality standards and are produced within budget constraints. Stay organized and maintain accurate records of design files, sketches, and samples. Communicate effectively with vendors and manufacturers to ensure design specifications are met. Keep up-to-date with industry trends and competitor products to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
