Assistant Designer - Home

As an Assistant Designer, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced designers and contribute to the development of our home collections. Collaborate with senior designers and cross-functional teams to develop innovative and trendsetting home products for Macy's customers. Utilize your creative skills and attention to detail to assist in the design process, from concept to final product. Conduct market research and analyze industry trends to help inform design decisions and stay ahead of the competition. Support the team in creating visual presentations, mood boards, and inspiration boards to communicate design concepts. Work closely with vendors and suppliers to source materials and samples for product development. Assist in product development activities such as sketching, creating technical drawings, and reviewing prototypes. Maintain organized and accurate records of all design-related documents, including sketches, swatches, and samples. Help manage the project timeline and ensure all design deadlines are met. Collaborate with the buying and merchandising teams to ensure the product aligns with Macy's brand and meets customer needs. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and competitor offerings to make recommendations for product enhancements and improvements. Participate in team meetings and provide creative input and feedback on design concepts. Adhere to Macy's design standards and quality guidelines to ensure consistency and excellence in all products.
