Brigham Young University (BYU) is seeking a talented Architectural Designer to provide expert planning and architectural services for the design, improvement, and remodeling of facilities on the BYU campus, as well as minor new building projects. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a variety of dynamic projects and collaborate with a passionate team dedicated to shaping BYU’s campus environment. What You’ll Do in This Role: • Lead Design Project Manager for shop projects and select contract projects, ensuring that every detail meets our high standards. • Manage consulting architects on larger-scale projects, guiding the design process from concept through completion. • Engage with clients to understand their vision and needs and help create innovative and functional design solutions. • Prepare preliminary plans, working drawings, and specifications, ensuring timely project approvals. • Assist with project inspections and approve shop drawings to ensure that construction meets design intent. What Qualifies You for This Role: Required: • A strong commitment to the mission of BYU. • A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in an architectural firm or commercial interior design environment. • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam (5+ years of experience). • Associate’s degree in Design/Drafting. Preferred: • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or Facilities Management. • Utah Licensed Architect.
