About this role

Job Title: Architectural Designer Location: Tallahassee, FL Regular/Temporary: Regular Full/Part Time: Full-Time Job ID: 59111 Department Facilities Planning Responsibilities Prepares preliminary and final construction drawings and specifications for review and approval by the Architect Supervisor. Coordinates preparation of related probable cost statements. Coordinates interior design work with architectural and engineering support consultants. Prepares interior furniture and equipment selections and finishes in accordance with client department requirements. Verifies existing physical conditions at project sites. Inspects and issues inspection reports of progress and completed work. Develops building programs as needed to define the scope of related projects. Reviews building and life safety code requirements and prepares project specific summary analysis reports and building programs. Manages interior design product and finish system references and sample library, supervises Interior Design Interns in related tasks. Develops and maintains job files, such as resource libraries, project schedules, and procurement and budget tracking documents, in a centralized electronic location that is available to and approved by the department. Maintains file structure and records of floor plans, finish schedules, and furnishings, including age, warranty, and life expectancy of furnishings. Qualifications Bachelor's degree and two years experience or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience. (Note: or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.) A valid Florida or Georgia driver's license or the ability to obtain one upon hire. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in architecture or a Bachelor's degree in interior design with a license as an interior designer. Two years’ experience designing renovation and/or remodel projects under the direction of a licensed Interior Designer and/or licensed Architect.
