Job Purpose Architectural Design Assist will assist the team to communicate and collaborate closely with clients, staff, consultants, vendors, and contractors to produce successful architectural design outcomes. Duties and Responsibilities • Create colored elevations or other graphic documents for meetings, presentations, or submittals. • Understand on-site problem solve • Understand material schedules • Assist in all inspirations for all projects • Assist with clients, project teams, vendors, and consultants to produce successful architectural design outcomes • Learn building codes and regulations and determines how they will affect architectural designs. • Update catalog sheets • Draw elevations, RCP, floor plans, furniture plans and lights elevations • Project drawings are clear, accurate and in compliance with client approved project documents. Project systems, specifications, and details are accurate and clearly shown • Assist in producing schematic schematic design documents • Learn design standards for kitchen and bathrooms as well as cabinetry construction and detailing. • Assist in architectural selections and procurement. Maintain client boxes. • Keep track of architectural inventory. • Visit jobsites to assist in gathering data needed to complete designs. • Assist in creating and updating architectural schedules for hard surfaces, plumbing, hardware, flooring and appliances for all projects Assist in re-selections for hard surfaces, plumbing, hardware, flooring and appliances for all projects • • Learn materials needed and how to calculate the quantity to be ordered. • • Learn design functional/aesthetic resources and market trends. • • Organize, coordinate, and maintain hard-surfaces resource area. • • Set up and coordinate luncheons for reps. • • Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned. Qualifications, Education and Experience Include, but are not limited to: • • Proven written and verbal communication, computer, and creative skills. • • Ability to use Photoshop, In Design, Microsoft office products. • • Ability to work well under pressure, juggle and prioritize multiple projects and adjust work accordingly, often against tight deadline. • • Ability to interact with external clients, organizations, and vendors. • • Ability to manage priorities, organizational presentation, and interpersonal skills. • • Education (degree(s) required) • Proficiency in AutoCAD required (firm does not use Revit or other design software) • AutoCAD proficiency is required; candidates whose primary experience is in Revit or other design software may not be the best fit. Experience (years of experience required) • 0-4+ years design experience • 1+ year of project management/administrative experience Working Conditions Working conditions are normal for an office environment with flexibility in schedule. Work may require some weekend and evening work. Some travel may be required. Physical Requirements This position may include physical demands such as the ability to intensely focus and handle stressful situations. You will primarily be working on a computer and sitting in this role. There may be travel at times.
