About this role

A New Orleans-based full-service firm providing architectural and interior design for new construction and renovation of residential and commercial architecture. We design for projects of small, medium, and large sizes. We are currently seeking to hire an experienced architect to help with the development, construction documentation and construction administration of projects on a project to project contract basis. The position requires that you will • Be responsible for planning, developing, and executing technical documentation which may include interpreting, organizing, and coordinating project assignments • Direct and coordinate production of schematic, design development and construction documents • Detailed oriented in the development of construction documents, including specifications • Perform construction administration duties (e.g., RFI’s, RFP’s, change orders, etc.) • Execute applicable agency review analysis (accessibility, zoning, life-safety, etc.) • Establish budget, task schedule, and other components of the work plan • Work with engineering consultants through all phases of the project • Utilize your high level technical skills in Revit and other design application software • Strong organizational skills, able to work under pressure, meet deadlines and budget time • Collaborate with clients to determine their needs and preferences for interior spaces. • Develop design concepts and present them to clients using sketches, mood boards, and digital renderings. • Utilize Revit to create detailed designs and layouts. • Select appropriate materials, furnishings, color schemes, and finishes based on the principles of color theory. • Prepare contract documents and specifications for project execution. • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to ensure successful delivery of design projects. • Communicate with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. • Stay updated on industry trends, new materials, and design techniques to enhance creativity and innovation in designs. • Work hard, play hard, and have a passion for your work! You should have: • A professional degree in Architecture and / or Interior Design • Proficiency in 3D modeling, visualization, and graphic software; proficiency in Revit is crucial • Understanding of project management process • Effective verbal and written communication skills • Collaborative and professional work ethic • Strong knowledge of architectural design, building envelope components, engineering coordination, design trends, products, construction methodology, building systems, material application, and manufacturer-supplier appropriateness • Strong knowledge of construction procedures and schedules. • Strong knowledge of building codes and ability to research and apply/incorporate into technical documents • Strong knowledge of sustainability, integrated design and LEED guidelines. • Proficiency in specifications. • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook. • Ability to produce a well-coordinated, detail-oriented, fully integrated Project Manual. Work on your own projects is permitted, given that your work quality and time on studio projects do not suffer. Compensation commensurate with experience.
