Pivot Interiors is looking for a Design Intern in San Jose, CA, to support the design team with workplace solutions for clients. The role involves creating schematic floor plans, coordinating client meetings, and managing design workflows. Candidates should be enrolled in a CIDA accredited Interior Design program and possess skills in tools like AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite. This full-time position is hybrid, offering a dynamic work environment and opportunities for creative collaboration.

Responsible for planning and managing the activities of the Design Team - including design and ancillary - by establishing high standards for design, developing a profitable creative design business, providing a high level of customer satisfaction and serving as communication link between sales, project management and design team members. • Participates in the recruiting, interviewing and hiring process of new personnel as required. Coordinates interface between sales and design to ensure that the design services are sold to clients during initial sales meetings with clients. Directs the activities of the Design Team. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.

You will work alongside a team of dynamic, creative workplace designers, practicing high standards for design, providing a high level of customer satisfaction, and serving as a collaborative member of a dynamic project team including sales, project management, and procurement support. In addition to leading project design, you will partner closely with sales executives to support new business development efforts - participating in pitch strategies, co-creating presentation materials, and joining client meetings to help win new opportunities. We’re Excited About You If You Have • 5+ years of professional experience and a bachelor’s degree in architecture or interior Design from an accredited 4-year university; or equivalent combination of education and industry experience including a proven track record of leading projects. In Addition, You Will Be Responsible For: • Project and Client Management • Complete the overall scope of projects of increasing complexity, including programming, strategic planning, conceptual designs, space planning, OSHPD/HCAI submittals, presentations, design development, and production; delegate and oversee fulfillment of design deliverables as required. • Demonstrate proficiency in creating and developing overall design concepts and formulating design presentation strategies with an understanding of healthcare design history and trends. We are Excited About You If You Have • 2+ years of professional experience and a bachelor’s degree in architecture or interior Design from an accredited 4-year university or equivalent combination of education and industry experience, including a proven record of leading projects. • Strong, persuasive communicator with excellent verbal presentation skills and the ability to communicate complex design concepts to clients.
