The primary activity for a Designer-I is to assist in the development of design and/or technical solutions for projects, under the supervision of a team, including a licensed Interior Designer, that contribute to its overall success. * Understand key sustainability requirements, and further one’s knowledge of select initiatives * Begin to develop an ability to make design and documentation decisions using discretion and good judgement * Prepare and produce design and construction drawings, as directed * Gain an understanding of building systems, codes, and construction methods * Contribute as required to support the success of the studio and firm * Encouraged to begin to understand the NCIDQ registration process * Collaborate with other Cooper Carry staff/studios as required to meet project objectives. * Graduate of an accredited Interior Design/Architecture program with Bachelor’s or Master’s level degree * Zero to one+ years’ experience in a Commercial Design setting * Creative and collaborative with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced team atmosphere * Proficiency with required computer software; including knowledge of Autodesk Revit and Adobe Photoshop and/or InDesign * A strong desire to learn, ask questions, and be taught numerous things This position has no supervisory responsibilities. JOB TITLE: Senior Hospitality Interior Designer (TJS) JOB SUMMARY: The Senior Interior Designer works closely with the project's design team from concept to completion. In collaboration with the Project Lead, the Senior Interior Designer is responsible for supervision of design intent, overseeing the design team, client presentations, and the production of complete, accurate and well-coordinated documents that are in accordance with The Johnson Studio at Cooper Carry standards to be on time and budget. The Senior Interior Designer works on complex projects and often multiple projects simultaneously.
