Drapery Finishing Associate

What you'll do • Remove drapery from rack for processing • Assist the Pleat Folder in placing drapery neatly on the fan folding machine • Fold long draperies manually on the worktable • Hand-sew each pleat using loop cord and a sewing needle • Refold and band draperies in preparation for inspection • Send finished draperies to the inspector for final quality check • Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor • Comply with all facility safety rules and regulations • Report unsafe practices, conditions, or near misses immediately to a supervisor • Maintain floor safety discipline and intervene in cases of unsafe behaviors • Properly wear and report defective personal protective equipment (PPE) • Use caution when working around equipment such as air clamps, steam machines, sharp hooks, and pinning tools • Stay alert to floor hazards like expansion joints and congested rack areas • Seek assistance when handling heavy or oversized draperies • Ensure all equipment is powered down at the end of each shift • Maintain a clean and organized work area, participating in daily housekeeping routines • Follow emergency evacuation routes and protocols specific to your department • Work is performed in a production environment • Must be able to remain in a stationary (seated) position approximately 50% of the time • May be required to sit for up to seven hours or more per shift • Occasionally operate hand tools and handle repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, and fingers By submitting your application below, you are providing your prior consent to receive SMS messages to notify you of any updates to your application status and to engage in discussion throughout your application process.

As a member of the Hunter Douglas family of brands, Carole Fabrics has proudly served the interior design community for more than 60 years, making the finest soft window treatments in the industry. • Pleat Marking Table • Remove drapery from rack carefully, and place on pleat marker table • Read work ticket for special instructions and sign work ticket • Check work ticket for width, special returns, and special instructions • Subtract returns and overlaps from widths of drapery, look in pleat mark book for reading and correct number of mark drapery, any drapery with more than 10 panels had to work out to correct number to mark drapery. • Seam fold each drapery and place on finish rack by date card numbers on corresponding work ticket • Any defectiveness of drapery and any questions about drapery should be reported to supervisor, or placed on a hold rack in a designated area to be checked by supervisor • Drapery should be correct by pleat marker before releasing to the step for operation.
