We seek out complex projects with big impact because they require us to ask tough questions, synthesize data, and push past the boundaries of existing answers into the realm of innovative solutions. This position works directly with the firm’s Architectural, Engineering and Design teams to work on innovative projects and interact with clients. Position Responsibilities • Assignments may include working with a team through programming, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, space planning, construction documentation and construction administration activities • Develops design or technical solutions under supervision of the Interior Designer and/or team • Conduct design related research • Participate in the selection of furniture, finishes, equipment and lighting • Work with external consultants, products reps, and fabricators • Interface and coordinate with other disciplines, such as Architecture, Engineering and Design • Mentor team members with less experience • Develop knowledge of Ballinger’s project types (health care, academic/lab/research, corporate/workspace) through on-the-job experience, repetition, and scalability of tasks and responsibilities • Provide support in all project design/coordination phases • Actively contribute to advancing design ideas/understanding design issues • Travel as project requirements dictate for field/site visits during construction • Produce 3D renderings • Create and maintain firm standards Requirements • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in Architecture, Interior Design or equivalent • Entry-level or up to five years experience • Working toward Professional Registration • Working knowledge of current Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint • Attention to Detail • Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills • Demonstration of superior technical skills, dedication and ownership of work We believe that people are our greatest asset and the precision, expertise and collaboration that we bring to our projects sets us apart from the competition and enables us to make an impact on our world and community.

During the Ballinger Summer Internship, Interns will become a part of our innovative design practice. Interns can expect the following during their experience at Ballinger: Primary Job Responsibilities: Assignments may include working with a team through programming, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, space planning, construction documentation and construction administration activities Below is what a Summer Intern can expect at Ballinger: Orientation- Attend scheduled orientation activities with Ballinger Operations Staff and Studio Leads Office Tour- A Ballinger team member will give a guided tour of the studio, including our model shop and materials library. Pair with a Mentor- Interns will be matched with a mentor who is a point of contact to discuss goals for the summer, help interns find their way at Ballinger, and are responsible for checking in with the paired intern throughout the summer.
