This position is located Dayton Veteran Affairs (VA) Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio and is responsible for planning and implementation of interior design projects. The incumbent serves as an advisor and consultant to the Principal Interior Designer, Engineering Service, in developing interior design projects for the Medical Center and all outlying areas of responsibility. * Prepares drawings, documents, finish schedules, furniture specifications, and orders in healthcare specialty areas and ensures compliance with all applicable mandates, procurement regulations, and accrediting agencies for passage of inspections and accreditation. Specialized experience is experience that required the performance of work concerned with the design and alteration of interior spaces to meet functional and aesthetic needs such as: Identifying, researching, and creatively solving problems pertaining to the function and quality of the interior environment; Performing services relative to interior spaces, including programming, design analysis, space planning and aesthetics, using specialized knowledge of interior construction, building systems and components, building codes, equipment, materials, and furnishings; Preparing drawings and documents relative to the design of interior spaces in order to enhance and protect the health, safety, and welfare of the public; Coordinating and integrating the mechanical, electrical, and structural engineering disciplines within the interior context; Managing projects, developing cost estimates, evaluating bid proposals, reviewing construction documents, participating in on-site construction visits, conducting pre- and post-occupancy evaluations, developing standards for efficient space management, etc.NOTE: Experience must be fully documented on your resume and must include job title, duties, month and year start/end dates AND hours worked per week. ****EDUCATION SUBSTITUTION:**** You must have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or three (3) full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.M., if related, with major study in interior design or other field that included or was supplemented by at least 30 semester hours in interior design, interior architecture, or interior environmental design; or passage of the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) examination.

Sinclair Community College is seeking part-time adjunct faculty to teach face-to-face courses at our downtown Dayton campus. Morning, afternoon, and evening slots are available with pay starting at $1,046 per credit hour assigned to teach. Open to residents of Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky, or those able to work within these states for tax and benefits compliance. Tuition waiver for 3 credit hours per semester is among the benefits offered.
