Montgomery Roth a division of Shive-Hattery in our Houston, TX office, has an immediate full-time opening for an Interior Designer with a minimum of 8 years of experience. Montgomery Roth is a dynamic, full-service design firm specializing in interior design, architecture, engineering, and landscape architecture. Participates and contributes to design discussions, idea generation, collaboration, and design work in drawing, model and 3D image formats.Manages the production and coordination of design process and technical documents under the direction of a licensed design professional.Creates graphical images.Produces design and detailing in Revit.Attends project and client meetings with design professionals, Interior Designers, and Architects.Interacts with and is a representative of Shive-Hattery with clients and contractors as it relates to on-going projects.Participates in applicable AIA, NCARB, and/or community activities as able. Education: Completion of accredited professional degree program with a Bachelors degree or Masters degree in architecture, interior design, or equivalent in appropriate education and experience.Experience: Individuals with up to 3 years’ experience or more; additional Internships/summer experience is a plus.License/Certification: NoneBasic knowledge of design of architectural systems, construction documentation, and associated technology.Demonstrates a high degree of aptitude in critical, creative thinking associated with design and the design process.Basic understanding of architectural specifications, international building codes, life safety code and current ADA requirements.Knowledge of programming, planning, and building performance is beneficial.Motivated and creative professional.Self-motivated and able to problem-solve independently. Qualifications: Completion of an accredited professional degree program with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design5–10 years of professional experience, with demonstrated familiarity in interior Workplace designRegistered Architect or Interior Designer, or actively pursuing architectural licensure or NCIDQ certificationProficiency in Autodesk Revit (required)Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and SketchUpDemonstrated expertise in workplace test-fit design, including space planning, adjacency studies, and iterative layout developmentSolid understanding of architectural specifications, International Building Code (IBC), life safety codes, and ADA requirementsExperience with furniture and finish selection is preferred, but not requiredExcellent written and verbal communication skillsSelf-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of independent problem solvingRequirements:*Interested applicants should submit their cover letter, resume, and portfolio for consideration.
