Business Operations Management // Commercial Interior Design Workplace Strategy The Job Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Creation and planning of the conceptual design of a project or major portions of a project • Leading the design process by generating concepts and working closely with clients to capture client’s thoughts and concepts for the project • Making client presentations without supervision • Managing projects to completion, including work performed by internal and external resources • Assigning tasks, overseeing work, and providing feedback to the project team • Coordinating with consultants and teammates throughout project • Establishing, maintaining, and adhering to project budgets and schedules, as well as informing clients of any potential deviations to either • Leading a team of designers in developing technical solutions to design ideas • Organizing project approach, leading communication and meetings with client representatives, service providers, and internal team, guiding toward consensus and future steps • Quality control • Developing skills of staff for future projects • Managing clients to ensure positive overall relationships resulting in additional business or referred work • Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities with existing and potential clients To be successful in this role at Carson Design Associates, we expect you to have: • A collaborative and professional work ethic • Extensive knowledge of materials, furnishings, and construction methods related to interior architecture • Extensive knowledge of building systems, codes, and accessibility requirements • The ability to write and coordinate proposals for services, consultants, and contractors • An understanding of document deliverables in all phases of design • A proven ability to solve contract and administration issues within the established design context • Proficiency with relevant software such as Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office • Creative problem-solving abilities • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate and quickly build rapport internally and externally with all levels of staff • Strong organizational skills • Advanced presentation and graphic communication skills • Experience in performing duties in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and deadlines • A demonstrated ability to manage and lead all levels of staff through a combination of direct authority and subject matter expertise To be a successful team member at Carson Design Associates, you must have the ability to identify red flags and a desire to know and learn more, always asking questions and determining if there is a better way.
