LMB Interiors is a high-end residential and occasionally commercial design firm located in downtown Oakland. Please visit our website to learn more about our ethos. We are looking for a Designer with 5+ years of experience working in residential interior design, 5+ years construction management experience, and with experience using Studio Designer Software.
Our Designer position is responsible for supporting our team in developing, managing, and recording technical aspects of projects. They work closely with the project manager, design coordinators, and project teams on conceptual designs, presentations, design development, and production.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and manage project design and implementation from Schematic Design phase through completionSupport designers to manage clients, coordination, project supervision, and site visitsExpedite and follow up on orders at fabricators, artisans, and contractorsPreparation of floor plans, elevations, design presentations, renderings, finish schedules, custom furniture design drawings, and specificationsAssist Designers and Principal in all project-related tasks and execution of project goalsSource, quote, create client proposalsPrepare project documents, budget, scope, and timelineRepresent the LMB Interiors Brand at all times in professionalism and appearance
Job Qualifications and Competencies
Highly organized and detail-orientedExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalUnderstanding of current interior design practices and standardsWorking knowledge of current California Codes and RegulationsProficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator + Photoshop, Microsoft Office, Studio DesignerKnowledge of the San Francisco Design Center; maintains and nurtures contactsKnowledge of custom high-end furnishingsWorks well with a team and independentlyAble to manage multiple projects, timelines, and deadlinesFlexible, positive, can-do attitudeGrowth Mindset: Interested in personal growth and self-inquiry as a consistent practiceCreative problem solver: looks at problems as opportunitiesStays calm under pressureHigh EQ - Does not take things personally, not defensive, open to growthAbility to be coached and learn alternate ways of approaching issuesAble to identify and manage emotions of self and teamCreate and manage client budgets

Requirements:
Must own a working computer if you work from homeWell-maintained, reliable vehicle
Education:
Interior design degree and/or bachelors with interior design experience working for another firm with design skills as listed above
Experience:
Interior design: 3 years (Required)
Work Locations:
In the LMBI Studio Some flexibility to work from home, assuming a professional set-up with an aesthetically-appealing Zoom background and dedicated workstation is available
