Interior Design Assistant & Marketing Coordinator Location: Tiverton, Rhode Island Salary: $45,000–$60,000 per year (commensurate with experience) Lou Lou's Decor is an established boutique interior design firm specializing in thoughtfully curated residential interiors throughout New England. We are seeking a creative, highly organized, and motivated Interior Design Assistant & Marketing Coordinator to join our team at our design studio in Tiverton, Rhode Island. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about interior design and enjoys being involved in every stage of the design process—from sourcing furnishings and assisting with installations to creating engaging social media content. While the role includes occasional light showroom responsibilities, the primary focus is supporting our interior design team and helping bring beautiful homes to life. This position carries opportunities for professional growth and increased design responsibilities. Responsibilities Interior Design Assist the lead designers with residential interior design projects from concept through installation. Source furniture, lighting, fabrics, wallcoverings, and accessories. Create floor plans, furniture layouts, and space planning drawings using AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar design software. Prepare design presentations, specifications, and client materials. Coordinate ordering, procurement, and project fulfillment. Track orders, deliveries, and installations while communicating with vendors and clients. Maintain organized project files, samples, and the design library. Assist with project installations and styling completed spaces for photography. Marketing & Social Media Create and manage content for Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, and other social media platforms. Photograph projects, new product arrivals, and behind-the-scenes studio activities. Assist with website updates, email marketing, and other promotional materials. Studio Support Welcome clients and vendors visiting the design studio. Assist with maintaining an organized and inspiring showroom environment. Help receive merchandise and perform occasional administrative tasks. Qualifications Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred. 1–3 years of experience in interior design, design support, or a related field is preferred. Recent graduates with strong portfolios are encouraged to apply. Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, or comparable design software with the ability to create floor plans, furniture layouts, and space plans. Strong understanding of furniture, textiles, lighting, finishes, and residential interior design principles. Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with a professional, client-focused demeanor. Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and the ability to quickly learn new software. Experience with Studio Designer, Shopify, QuickBooks, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar software is a plus. Experience creating engaging content for Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, and other social media platforms. Strong visual and aesthetic sense with the ability to style, photograph, and present interiors beautifully. Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work both independently and collaboratively. Ability to lift and move design samples, small furnishings, and boxes (up to approximately 30 pounds). Reliable transportation and ability to travel to client homes and project installations throughout Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts as needed.
