TRG Architecture + Interior Design

Founded in 1995, the firm has completed high-end residential projects across California and in states such as Hawaii, Oregon, North Carolina, Maine, Michigan, Iowa, and Florida. TRG specializes in creating sophisticated, livable environments that thoughtfully integrate client needs with site context. Role Description This full-time, on-site Senior Interior Designer role is based in San Mateo, CA. The Senior Interior Designer will lead interior design projects from concept through construction, including programming, space planning, concept development, and detailing. Qualifications Strong Interior Design skills, including concept development, material and finish selection, and detailing for high-end residential projects.Proficiency in Space Planning, with the ability to translate client needs into functional, aesthetically cohesive layouts.Experience in Architecture-related coordination, including integration of interiors with building systems and structural elements.Demonstrated ability to produce and review Construction Drawings, including interior elevations, millwork details, and specifications.Expertise in FF&E selection and specification, including furnishings, lighting, fixtures, and custom pieces suitable for luxury residential environments.Proficiency with design and documentation software (e.g., AutoCAD or Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office).Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a closely related field; relevant certifications or licensure are a plus.7+ years of professional interior design experience, preferably with a focus on high-end residential projects.Strong client-facing, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to lead meetings and manage expectations.Proven ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and work effectively in a collaborative studio environment.

You will take the lead on these projects and will be responsible for managing your team to develop and present design concepts, collaborate with contractors and industry partners, meet project deadlines and budgets, and ensure a seamless and positive experience for our clients. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree or higher in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field and a minimum of 7 years of experience at a high-end design studio. · Manage projects from conception to move-in while efficiently coordinating with the architecture team and directing junior designers and other members of your team. · Run job site meetings to review framing, rough plumbing, electrical, etc... to ensure the design is built according to plan. · Direct furniture installations and manage whole-house window treatment design and installation.
