We’re partnering with a forward-thinking design firm in search of a licensed architect who’s ready to take on a next-generation leadership role in their Richmond office. This is more than a project role — it’s a strategic growth opportunity for someone who’s ready to step into principal-level leadership. You’ll lead projects, mentor teams, and help define the vision of a studio known for its design excellence and collaborative culture. What You’ll Do • Lead Design Excellence Building (DEB) projects across Virginia, bringing strong design, technical, and client-management skills. • Partner directly with firm leadership to shape the Richmond office’s direction and culture. • Guide multidisciplinary teams through every phase — from concept and planning to completion. • Deepen client relationships in Higher Education, Science & Technology, and other institutional sectors. • Inspire and mentor the next generation of designers. What You Bring • VA architectural license (RA required) and 10+ years of professional experience. • Proven experience with DEB and complex, multi-phase projects. • A strong portfolio in Higher Education and/or Science & Technology (healthcare experience a plus). • Leadership presence — you thrive in environments where autonomy, trust, and initiative are valued. • A self-starter mindset, fueled by curiosity, accountability, and an entrepreneurial drive to grow into a principal role.
