About the Role
We are looking for a creative, motivated Interior Design student to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to gain real-world design experience while working in a retail showroom and assisting clients with residential design projects.
As part of our team, you'll help customers in-store, conduct in-home design consultations, develop design recommendations, and support projects from concept to completion. If you're passionate about design, enjoy working with people, and want to build your portfolio while learning the business side of interior design, we'd love to meet you.
Responsibilities
Welcome and assist customers in our retail showroom.
Provide design guidance for furniture, flooring, window treatments, lighting, décor, and other interior products.
Conduct in-home consultations to understand clients' needs, style preferences, and project goals.
Measure spaces and document existing conditions.
Create design concepts, mood boards, space plans, and product recommendations.
Present design ideas and assist clients in selecting finishes, furnishings, and materials.
Prepare estimates and coordinate product selections with the sales team.
Follow up with clients throughout the design process to ensure an exceptional customer experience.
Stay current on design trends, materials, and products.
Maintain an organized, attractive showroom and assist with merchandising displays.
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in an Interior Design program (Associate's or Bachelor's degree).
Strong interest in residential interior design.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Comfortable visiting clients' homes for consultations.
Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects.
Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with SketchUp, AutoCAD, Revit, Chief Architect, or similar design software is a plus.
Ability to work some weekends or flexible retail hours.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
