We are seeking a talented Senior Interior Designer who is ready to take ownership of projects, build meaningful client relationships, and contribute to the continued growth of our interiors division.
Position Summary
The Senior Interior Designer is responsible for leading luxury residential projects from concept through construction. This role requires strong design abilities, technical expertise, project management skills, and a commitment to delivering an exceptional client experience.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, collaborative, and capable of managing multiple projects while maintaining design excellence.
Key Responsibilities | Project Leadership
Lead the interior design process for luxury custom homes and major residential remodels from concept through construction.
Manage assigned residential design projects from concept through construction with support from the Design Director.
Coordinate project schedules, deadlines, and deliverables.
Monitor project hours and maintain alignment with project budgets.
Maintain project calendars, task lists, and weekly project updates.
Client Experience
Build strong relationships with clients through clear communication and professionalism.
Participate in and lead client meetings and presentations with guidance from the Design Director as needed.
Present design concepts, finish selections, furnishings, and construction details with confidence.
Guide clients through design decisions while balancing aesthetics, functionality, and budget.
Design & Documentation
Develop comprehensive construction documents and specifications.
Produce accurate and detailed drawing sets with minimal supervision.
Apply building code knowledge and constructible design solutions throughout each project.
Coordinate with consultants, vendors, and trade partners.
Perform quality control reviews and participate in peer redline reviews.
Team Collaboration
Work closely with the Design Director, project managers, and construction team.
Communicate proactively regarding project progress, challenges, and solutions.
Accept feedback constructively and contribute positively to team culture.
Take ownership of mistakes and actively participate in problem-solving.
Professional Development
Stay current on design trends, materials, products, and industry best practices.
Attend industry seminars, workshops, and continuing education opportunities.
Maintain a high level of technical and design proficiency.
QualificationsRequired
Degree in Interior Design or related field.
Minimum 5-8 years of residential design-build experience.
Strong understanding of residential construction and detailing.
Experience preparing construction documents and specifications.
Knowledge of applicable building codes.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Strong organizational and project management abilities.
