About this role
Main Objective: To greet and sell merchandise to clients of CHD, as well as maintain the overall appearance of the Showroom Floor. To ring up client purchases, handle inventory concerns, stay proficient in CHD software systems, conduct research on the computer and assist the Store Manager.
Job Expectations:
· Greet all customers on the Showroom Floor and help them with the buying process.
· Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday
· Maintain a professional appearance. Attire should be in compliance with CHD Company Handbook Policy, Section II.
· Assist Full Time Floor Associate to maintain showroom to keep the floor neat, safe and clean, fully staged and stocked. The Showroom Floor should be inviting and aesthetically appealing.
· Assist Full Time Floor Associate to handle all paperwork and computer entry from point of sale to delivery (to include all floor sales as well as any special orders.) This requires proficiency in Excel, Word and Microsoft Office as well as strong organizational skills.
· Assist Full Time Floor Associate to make certain all merchandise is tagged. This includes newly arriving stock or returns as well as items that designers take to clients’ homes for staging. When any item is brought into the store, it must be appropriately tagged. Periodically, check Showroom Floor items for tags (sometimes tags fall off items and this makes items difficult to ring up.)
· Work as a team player with fellow co-workers to foster a cohesive, positive work environment. Be able to qualify good sales leads to pass off to interior designers.
· Responsible for daily closing including (but not limited to) recording sales and balancing the cash drawer and credit card machine. Fax appropriate closing documents to Murrells Inlet store.
· Be responsible for taking all cash and check deposits to the bank.
· Maintain Fabric Room organization. Keep it tidy and presentable at all times.
o Also, file away any newly arrived samples in the appropriate places.
· Creating a log for ongoing samples arriving (i.e. identifying who gets what samples)
· Assisting in handling store maintenance issues as they arise (i.e. plumbing, electrical, refuse collection, etc.)
· Obtaining all supplies for the store, to include necessary staples purchases, such as cleaning supplies, snack area items, bottled water for clients and any approved supplies for the Front Desk or work needs for designers (i.e. paper, ink, envelopes, etc.)
· Updating the latest catalogs stored in the back office (i.e. accessories books, lighting, furniture, price lists, etc.
