Role Description The Senior Interior Designer is a full-time, on-site role based in Skokie, IL, responsible for leading interior design projects from concept through completion. This role includes developing design concepts, space plans, and mood boards, as well as selecting finishes, fixtures, and furnishings that align with client goals and project standards. The Senior Interior Designer will prepare detailed drawings and specifications, coordinate closely with architects, construction teams, and vendors, and oversee design execution during construction and installation. Daily responsibilities also include client presentations, managing project timelines and budgets, reviewing shop drawings, and ensuring design consistency and quality across all deliverables.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Interior Design and Space Planning skills, with experience creating functional, aesthetically cohesive residential environments.Candidates should possess a solid understanding of Architecture and the ability to collaborate effectively with design and construction professionals.Candidates should possess proficiency in developing and reviewing Construction Drawings, including plans, elevations, and detailed specifications.Candidates should possess expertise in FF&E (furniture, fixtures, and equipment) selection, sourcing, and documentation for luxury residential projects.Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field; professional licensure or certification is a plus.5+ years of interior design experience, preferably in high-end residential or design-build environments.Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or similar) and presentation tools.Strong project management, communication, and client-facing skills, with the ability to lead projects and mentor junior team members.Knowledge of building codes, materials, and construction processes relevant to residential design.
