About this role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Interior Designer/ Interior Architect to join our team. This role is ideal for a design professional with a strong track record of leading interior design efforts on large, complex projects within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. The successful candidate will bring strong design leadership and interior design skills, technical expertise, and the ability to engage confidently with clients and project teams. This position offers the opportunity to work across a diverse range of market sectors, including workplace, higher education, K12, civic/cultural, multi-family, and sports/recreation projects. Candidates in other office locations may be considered Key Responsibilities Lead and drive the development of interior design projects across all phases, from programming and concept through construction administrationCollaborate with Project Architects, Project Managers, and multidisciplinary team members to coordinate integrated interior and architectural design solutionsContribute to and support interior design efforts across multiple projects and all project phasesSupport or lead key components of the design process, including space planning, finish development, and FF&E selection, visualization, specifications, and documentationDevelop and prepare high-quality design documentation and deliverables, including drawings, schedules, specifications, renderings, and presentation materialsDevelop and complete full contract document sets, including floor plans, reflected ceiling plans (RCP), elevations, finish plans, millwork drawings, details, and schedulesCoordinate with consultants, including architectural, lighting, landscape, structural, MEP, AV, and IT disciplinesEnsure continuity and consistency of design deliverables while meeting project schedules, budgets, and deadlinesParticipate in design discussions, internal critiques, and client meetings related to design scope and directionParticipate in client presentations and effectively communicate design concepts and solutionsCreate graphics and presentation materials, including conceptual renderings and diagrammatic studiesLead and participate in design charrettes and collaborative ideation sessions to elevate design quality throughout the processIncorporate integrated sustainable design strategies into projectsAssist in construction administration, including responding to RFIs, approving submittals, preparing sketches and addenda, conducting site visits, and developing punch listsQualifications 10+ years of professional interior design experience, preferably within a large architectural or multidisciplinary firmNCIDQ Certification requiredArchitecture registration is also considered in place of NCIDQBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related fieldDemonstrated experience leading interior design for large, complex projectsStrong proficiency in: Revit, Enscape, Bluebeam, and Adobe InDesignStrong design, communication, and presentation skills with client-facing experienceAbility to work effectively in a collaborative, team-based environmentStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrentlyPreferred Qualifications LEED and/or WELL AccreditationExperience in the workplace, higher education, K12, civic/cultural, sports & recreation, and/or professional sports projectsExperience with integrated sustainable design strategiesAdditional Information Hybrid work schedule with a minimum of 3 days per week in the Columbus, OH office (or other Moody Nolan office if approved) Must be willing and able to travel as needed to support firmwide project prioritiesWhy Moody Nolan?
