About this role

JOB SUMMARY: We are seeking an experienced Senior Interior Designer to support the development and execution of commercial Interior design projects. This role works closely with clients, sales partners, and internal teams to ensure a smooth design, specification, and delivery process. The Senior Designer works independently on most projects and collaborates with leadership on high‑profile initiatives or when working with unfamiliar products. The ideal candidate brings strong design judgment, technical expertise, and the ability to communicate clearly with both clients and internal stakeholders.. RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide creative space planning and design services using tools such as AutoCAD, CET, Worksheet, SPEC, or similar platforms Develop space plans, product application drawings, specifications, renderings, and installation plans Support the sales team and clients through site verification, inventory checks, typical development, color boards, furniture presentations, and installation documentation Analyze and assess client needs related to office furniture use and space planning Manage priorities and deadlines across multiple projects Maintain accurate and complete project documentation Contribute ideas and process improvements to increase efficiency, quality, consistency, and accuracy within the team Maintain active project tracking and design logs Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal partners SKILLS REQUIRED: Must have 5–8 years of experience in a commercial interior design firm or contract furniture dealership Proficiency in AutoCAD; familiarity with CAP 2020 and/or CET required or similar software. Strong knowledge of commercial furniture materials, finishes, and assembly methods Experience specifying Teknion products is strongly preferred Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Creative problem‑solving skills with the ability to navigate complex design challenges EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field A technical diploma will be considered only when relevant Teknion experience Professional licensure is a plus but not required PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK CONDITIONS Ability to work in a climate‑controlled office and showroom environment Ability to sit for extended periods of time Manual dexterity required for keyboarding and other repetitive tasks Occasional lifting of light materials (up to 10 lbs) Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English Occasional local travel and possible evening or weekend work to support customer needs Job Type: Full-time Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year Benefits: 401(k) matching Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Parental leave Referral program Tuition reimbursement Work Location: In person
