Senior Interior Designer, K-12 Interiors Leader

Your role will involve collaborating on exciting education projects across our offices in Los Angeles, Riverside, San Diego, and Sacramento, with opportunities for travel to those locations. Position SummaryAs a pivotal leader in our K-12 and Higher Education practices, you will not only drive design excellence but also foster business growth. In this influential position, you’ll provide creative vision and oversee project execution while building and nurturing client relationships. Leading a talented team of 8-12 interior designers, you will guide project delivery from concept through construction, cultivating an environment of collaboration, growth, and innovation. Close collaboration with market sector leaders and business development teams will be essential as we pursue new opportunities and enhance DLR Group's visibility in the industry. What You Will DoLead and mentor a high-performing interior design team, fostering a culture of accountability and innovation.Manage all phases of design, from concept development to documentation and construction administration.Engage with clients, network within the industry, and build relationships to create new business opportunities.Collaborate with marketing and sector leadership on project pursuits and participate in client interviews.Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, guiding them through strategy, design, and execution.Reinforce DLR Group's integrated design approach through cross-disciplinary collaboration.Ensure the technical quality and constructability of design documents align with project budgets, schedules, and sustainability goals.Inspire and support professional development for junior and intermediate designers.Represent DLR Group in the local design community at events, conferences, and professional organizations.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Interior Design.10+ years of interior design experience, particularly in education projects.Professional licensure is required; LEED AP or sustainability credentials are preferred.Proven leadership in team development and project execution.Proficient in Revit and familiar with standard A/E/C software tools.Exceptional verbal, written, and graphic communication skills.Active involvement in design industry organizations and a strong local network.*To be considered, please submit your current portfolio/work samples in PDF format.* At DLR Group, we offer comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, disability, and wellness programs, as well as flex spending, paid holidays, and paid time off. Compensation is based on location, experience, and skills, with a suggested pay range of $130,000 - $160,000 USD.
