About this role

Job description: Madison Nicole Design is searching for a Senior Interior Designer to grow our team! We are located on Main Street in Ventura, and specialize in full-service remodels, new builds, and furnishing projects, all with our signature California casual aesthetic that is refined but perfectly livable. The majority of our projects are located in Santa Barbara + Ventura counties, with occasional projects out of state. At MND, our goal is to offer all of our clients a wonderful experience from the first time they contact us all the way through to placing the last decorative accessory on the shelf. Back at the office, we work hard, laugh a lot, and have fun — because work can and should be rewarding and fun! We are looking for an Interior Designer with a similar aesthetic to MND. This person has an eye for design, is creative but realistic, and able to develop concepts from conception to completion. The Interior Design industry and the MND brand requires a high level of detail and your customer service skills must be exceptional in order to provide the experience that we pride ourselves on. You will be working on your own projects with oversight from the owner, as well as collaborating with Junior Designers and Project Managers. What you'll be doing: • Working on projects through all phases of design, from onboarding through to installation • Creating floor plans, elevations, and spec books for contractors • Sourcing + specifying all elements of project, including materials, finishes, plumbing, lighting, furniture, and accessories • Overseeing presentation deliverables, budgets, and time billing • Collaborate and oversee Junior Designers, leading them and helping to grow their design skills • Present designs to client alongside Principal Designer • Work with Project Manager to oversee purchasing and procurement • Attend all job site meetings and collaborate with contractors + subs as needed to execute project per plans • Communicate with vendors + trades • Prepare and plan for project installs, leading the install team on site Qualifications: • 5 years experience in residential interior design • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred • Ability to manage multiple design projects from concept to completion, staying within budget and design aesthetic • Highly organized with excellent communication skills • Knowledge of local design industry and vendors • Must be able to multi-task and work well within a team • Live locally, able to lift 50 lbs, have reliable vehicle Experience with the following programs: • Google Drive • Sketchup + Layout • ClickUp (preferred but not necessary) • Mac-based office - Numbers, Pages, Keynote • Ivy Project Management software or similar Benefits: • Paid holidays • Paid time off • 401k matching • Health care stipend • Employee discounts on furniture and accessories • All expense paid trips to furniture markets throughout the year • Beautifully designed work space with a fun team + good snacks :) Compensation: • Pay dependent on experience • Starting at $40/hour • Bonus pay Schedule: • Monday to Friday; every other Friday off • Full time position • Closed between Christmas + New Year Please upload cover letter, resume, and portfolio to be considered for the position.
