Full-Time
About this role
At Cuningham, we design places that move people emotionally, not just physically. We’re looking for a Project Interior Designer who sees interiors as more than finishes and furniture, someone who understands that the right material, the right light, the right moment of detail can transport a guest entirely.
This role is for a designer who is ready to own a project. You’ll lead interior design from early concept through construction administration, making real decisions, solving real problems, and shaping environments that people will remember long after they’ve left. You’ll work alongside talented, multidisciplinary teams on projects that demand both creative ambition and technical rigor, and you’ll have the support to grow into the leader you’re becoming.
If you’ve contributed to themed entertainment, attraction design, or immersive environments and you’re ready for a role where your design voice truly matters, we’d love to meet you. Direct experience in themed entertainment, attraction design, or immersive environments is required.
Certification/licensure (NCIDQ or equivalent) is preferred but not required.
What you will do:
Lead interior design across all project phases — from concept development through construction administration — on small to medium-scale projects
Develop and present interior design concepts, storytelling narratives, and compelling design presentations throughout the project
Produce and oversee a complete, high-quality set of interior construction documents that meet contract requirements and code standards
Manage the selection and specification of finishes, lighting, and furniture, coordinating closely with the specifications team
Oversee interiors coordination with architecture, engineering consultants, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure conceptual and technical alignment
Lead and manage client relationships, providing clear and timely communication between the client team and internal project team
Motivate and support team members through thoughtful task assignment that fosters professional growth
Identify and communicate project risks to the Project Manager and Project Executive
Participate in construction administration processes, on-site observations, and design verifications
Contribute to project pursuits, proposals, and client interviews
Apply regenerative and sustainable approaches to design and the performance of built, social, and natural environments
Proficiency in Revit/BIM 360, Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office; awareness and engagement with Rhino, Enscape, and Lumion
What we look for:
4–8 years of professional experience in interior design
Direct experience in themed entertainment, attraction design, or immersive environments is required; experience across other markets is welcomed
Demonstrated ability to lead small to medium-scale project scopes and collaborate on complex, multidisciplinary teams
Strong design, technical, and documentation skills with a high standard for quality and completeness
Effective communication and client relationship management skills, with the ability to translate ideas into clear, actionable direction
Experience leading interior design concept development and presenting to client groups
Familiarity with building codes as applied to interior projects and the permitting process
Certification/licensure (e.g., NCIDQ) preferred but not required
$80,000 - $110,000 a year
