Part Time Interior Design Assistant

Mary Best Designs is looking for a reliable, detail-oriented design assistant to support a high end interior design studio and furniture and home decor showroom. The ideal candidate is both design-minded and highly organized, with a professional and positive demeanor and a willingness to take initiative in all aspects of the design process. This is a part-time position assisting the principal designer, and days/times are flexible. Job Qualifications: • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Interior Design or related field • Proficient in AutoCAD or SketchUp to create 2D furniture floor plans, elevations, and 3D renderings • Strong communication and professional client interaction skills • Excellent attention to detail and follow-through • Highly dependable and consistently punctual • Strong organizational and problem solving skills, ability to stay on schedule, and ability to anticipate next steps Responsibilities Include: • Drafting 2D furniture floor plans, elevations, and 3D renderings • Assisting with ordering, tracking orders, and resolving damage claims with vendors • General administrative support including coordinating with the bookkeeper, builders, contractors and trade professionals • Comfortable managing all facets of the work, including the behind-the-scenes tasks like unpacking packages, managing sample library, assisting and supporting photo shoots, and making returns. • Greeting and assisting walk-in clients during open showroom hours Must be local to Milwaukee area and have own car for errands and site visits
