Lead Stager

Role Overview The Lead Stager is responsible for translating Jica’s design vision into fully realized, on-site installations. This role sits at the intersection of creative direction and operational execution, ensuring that every project is prepared thoughtfully, installed seamlessly, and aligned with Jica’s aesthetic standards. This position requires strong design intuition, organization, and leadership. The Lead Stager is both a creative executor and a team leader, responsible for guiding staging assistants and maintaining consistency across all installs. Client Experience & Brand Representation Represent Jica with professionalism, kindness, warmth, confidence, and expertise. Clearly communicate design decisions and staging intent when interacting with clients. Maintain a professional and flexible mindset during unforeseen circumstances. Design Planning & Project Preparation Anticipate inventory requirements and proactively identify potential shortages, substitutions, or sourcing needs. Ensure each project reflects Jica’s design vision while responding thoughtfully to the unique character of the property. Inventory Pulling & Install Readiness Personally pull all furniture, décor, artwork, textiles, and accessories. Minimize last-minute adjustments through thorough preparation and planning. Installation Leadership & Styling Execute and refine designs on-site to ensure every project feels cohesive, elevated, intentional, and aligned with Jica’s aesthetic standards. Make confident real-time styling and design decisions to maximize the impact of each space. Maintain a high standard of presentation, attention to detail, and quality across every installation. Communication & Leadership Maintain proactive communication with the Creative Lead regarding project progress, team development, inventory needs, and operational challenges. Identify opportunities for improvement and bring forward thoughtful solutions. Serve as a key leadership presence within the staging department, helping drive accountability, consistency, and excellence. Oversee training new Staging Assistants Success in this role is demonstrated by: Consistently delivering beautifully executed installations that embody Jica’s design standards. Maintaining a proactive planning process that minimizes last-minute issues and operational inefficiencies. Developing a confident, capable, and continually improving staging team. Keeping inventory organized, curated, and aligned with brand standards. Ensuring projects are prepared thoroughly and executed efficiently. Communicating proactively, solving problems early, and taking ownership of outcomes. Elevating both the client experience and the overall quality of Jica’s staging operations. WORK SCHEDULE 2-4 full (6+ hour) days per week Mon - Fri Hours vary within 7am - 7pm Someone with a flexible schedule is highly preferred COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS $25-$35/hour DOE 1099 (independent contractor) with possibility of becoming w2 The contractor is responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and business expenses. Mileage reimbursement for travel to and from the studio to job sites Flexible time off Complimentary snacks and bevies in our studio kitchen.
