Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Lead Designer role based in Fishers, IN. The person in this role will meet with prospective and existing clients to understand their goals, present design concepts, and guide them through the remodeling process from initial consultation to signed agreement. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating and refining interior, exterior, and/or architectural design solutions, preparing design presentations, and collaborating with project managers and production teams to ensure feasibility and alignment with budget and timelines. The Lead Sales Designer will manage a pipeline of opportunities, conduct in-home and in-showroom consultations, and follow up with leads to move projects forward. Additional tasks include documenting project details, maintaining accurate records in the CRM, contributing to design standards, and mentoring team members on design and client experience best practices. This role is a fast-paced, demanding role, with base salary + commission, where tenured lead designers earn $130K+ annually. To be successful, you must possess a wide array of residential knowledge across a multitude of project types.
Qualifications
Strong Communication and Customer Service skills to consult with clients, manage expectations, and build long-term relationships.Proven Sales experience, including the ability to present solutions, overcome objections, and close residential remodeling projects.Sales Management and Training capabilities to lead by example, support team performance, and share best practices.Proficiency in interior and/or architectural design in Chief Architect and the ability to produce clear, client-ready design concepts.Experience in residential remodeling, construction, or design/build environments, with an understanding of project sequencing and budgeting.Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and client meetings simultaneously.Ability to work on-site in Fishers, IN, including in-home consultations and occasional evening or weekend appointments as needed.Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.Must be able to sale and design complex, high-end residential remodels that span across multiple project types (structural, interior, and outdoor living).
