Lead Interior Designer

GMA Architects is a community of designers and architects in Eugene and Portland, Oregon working collaboratively to Make Better. At GMA, Interior Designers work on a variety of project types and sizes including public, hospitality, healthcare, housing, and education. As an Interior Designer within the firm, you will join a collaborative team to develop and implement interior design concepts on projects and help project teams to deliver personalized, well-intentioned spaces, and experiences. The description below outlines the general qualities we are looking for in a Lead Interior Designer. Location: Eugene, Oregon Preferred start date: May 2026 (flexible) Compensation: Commensurate with experience; includes benefits and personal time Education and Experience Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture from an accredited program, or equivalent professional experience 5-10 years of professional industry experience Experience with Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and MS Office Suite Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to understand design problems and quickly work through design iterations Provide clear project oversight and guide project team members from initial concepts through Construction Administration Thorough understanding of material and furniture selection, detailing, and specification for diverse project types Competence with space planning and code Collaborate with consultants to meet design and technical goals Ability to communicate design concepts in a compelling way through client-facing presentations, writing, and visual means Ensure client satisfaction through cohesive, thoughtful, and enduring designs that align with client’s goals, budget, and timeline Knowledge and continued interest in industry standards and trends, best practices, and codes/regulations Self-motivated with strong organization and time management skills Be an active listener and work collaboratively on project teams; foster a community design culture Professional Development GMA Architects works with employees to provide career opportunities based on individual goals.
