We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Interior Designer to support the development of commercial projects across a diverse range of sectors, including retail, office, healthcare, restaurant, and multifamily environments. This role involves managing a team of interior designers, client interaction, and coordination of permit and construction documents, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, code compliance, and efficient project delivery. The ideal candidate has proven leadership skills, is technically proficient, design-driven, and comfortable working across multiple project types in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Produce comprehensive architectural drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, and construction details for a variety of commercial project types in accordance with firm standards
Develop and manage Revit models at an expert level, ensuring coordination and accuracy across disciplines
Prepare, assemble, and coordinate permit and construction document sets in compliance with applicable building codes and jurisdictional requirements
Coordinate with consultants, including MEP, structural, and specialty vendors
Develop detailed interior drawings, including tenant improvements, millwork, finish plans, and reflected ceiling plans
Oversee interior finish selections, material specifications, and color coordination tailored to brand standards and project goals
Lead client meetings, present design concepts and documentation, and respond to client feedback professionally and effectively
Support ongoing client communication, helping to maintain strong relationships throughout the project lifecycle
Apply knowledge of sector-specific requirements (e.g., healthcare regulations, restaurant layouts, multifamily standards)
Review markups/redlines and implement revisions efficiently and accurately
Maintain organized project documentation and support overall project coordination
Lead team meetings, coordination sessions, and team building events
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
10+ years’ relevant experience in Architecture or Interior Design in a commercial setting
Expert proficiency in Revit required
Strong understanding of commercial construction documentation across retail, office, healthcare, restaurant, and/or multifamily projects
Experience preparing permit sets and coordinating with local jurisdictions
Working knowledge of building codes, ADA/accessibility standards, and life safety requirements
Expert proficiency with interior detailing, finish coordination, and material selection
Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Experience managing and developing design team members and providing appropriate feedback to support their growth and professional development
Preferred Skills:
Experience with tenant improvement (TI) and/or ground-up commercial projects
Familiarity with AutoCAD, Enscape, and Adobe Creative Suite
Proficiency with healthcare, multi-family or restaurant-specific design requirements is a plus
Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills

Pay: $85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
