Blue Terra Design is a small and agile design, build, and remodel business in Madison, Wisconsin. In addition to our kitchen and bath remodeling projects, we take on a wide variety of projects ranging from custom pieces to light commercial work. We are looking for an Experienced Designer with vision and voice to creatively lead our design team. The ideal candidate has strong communication, multi-tasking and organization skills, prior experience in construction/remodeling, and enjoys the challenge of cabinet design. Experience in Chief Architect or Design2020 a must.
General duties include (but are not limited to):
Meet with potential clients in their homes to discuss their project goals, Blue Terra’s services, cabinet line, and process, and take site measurements
Through interviews/meetings interpret client needs to create conceptual design, schematic design, space planning, and construction documents
Develop FF&E packages, including the specification of plumbing fixtures, lighting fixtures, tile, cabinet and countertop finishes, and coordinate with dealers and manufacturers to meet client and project goals
Create client design presentations, mood boards, and renderings as well as documents for subcontractors/jobsite binders
Professionally interact with clients, trades representatives, manufacturers, and sub-contractors in person, via email, and over the phone
Ensure final documents for projects are updated and accurate to the best of your ability, for yourself and for the team
Mentor and manage the interior design staff
Collaborate with carpenters and subcontractors to ensure viability and final outcomes of designs
Collaborate on social media and website updates
Occasional out of the box projects

REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education: Associate’s Degree with equivalent experience in interior design field. (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
Well versed in Design2020 or Chief Architect
Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to visualize / conceptualize design projects and lead a team
A team based environment with a strong level of communication is extremely important to us.
Pay ranges from $35.00 - $40.00 per hour and is commensurate with skills and/or qualifications.
