Junior Architectural Designer | Homeowner & Builder Liaison Company: Fabl Design Location: Nashville, TN / Middle Tennessee Position Type: Part-Time, Contract-to-Hire Compensation: $25/hour Start Date: As soon as possible Fabl Design is looking for a Junior Architectural Designer | Homeowner & Builder Liaison to join our residential design team. This is a part-time, contract-to-hire position for someone with an architectural background who enjoys residential design, field documentation, construction coordination, and clear communication. This role is a great fit for someone early in their career who wants hands-on experience with house plans, remodeling projects, existing condition documentation, builder coordination, and homeowner communication. ResponsibilitiesAssist with residential design projects, including remodels, additions, and existing home documentationReview and help understand house plans, drawings, and construction documentsVisit project sites to take measurements, photos, notes, and existing condition scansHelp document existing homes accurately for as-built drawings and design projectsAct as a liaison between homeowners, builders, and the Fabl Design teamAttend construction visits and help document field questions, updates, and action itemsListen carefully during meetings and take clear, organized notesCommunicate project information back to the design team in a timely and professional wayHelp keep projects organized and moving forwardSupport the design team with project coordination, follow-ups, and quality controlTravel occasionally for site visits, meetings, and project coordination RequirementsBachelor of Science in Architecture or a closely related field1+ year of relevant experience preferredBasic understanding of residential house plans and construction documentsAbility to take accurate field measurements and document existing conditionsComfortable using measuring tools, scanning tools, and site documentation methodsStrong listening, note-taking, and communication skillsProfessional and comfortable communicating with homeowners, builders, and team membersOrganized, detail-oriented, and willing to learnComfortable visiting active construction sitesWillingness to travel occasionally Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate is thoughtful, organized, and eager to learn. You do not need to know everything, but you should be comfortable asking questions, taking notes, visiting job sites, and helping translate conversations into clear information for the design team.
