ZWP’s Los Angeles office is dedicated to the full-scope design and development of high-end custom residences and condominium projects. Our work primarily serves premium communities including Calabasas, Hidden Hills, Encino, Pasadena, and surrounding high-value neighborhoods. Role Summary We are seeking a design-driven and technically proficient Architect/Interior Designer to join our team on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of material selection, proportion, and detailing, with solid experience across all phases of high-end residential projects—from Concept Design through Construction Administration. You will work closely with project leadership and the team on luxury custom residences, supporting architecture, interior and landscape development, millwork and finish detailing, FF&E planning, technical documentation, and construction-phase coordination to ensure accurate and consistent project execution. Key Responsibilities Contribute to the development of architectural and interior design packages from concept through construction documentation Create comprehensive mood boards, material studies, spatial narratives, and client presentation materials Develop and oversee FF&E strategies, including custom furniture design, lighting specifications, and material selections Coordinate with consultants, including structural, MEP, civil, and specialty trades, ensuring seamless integration into project documentation Manage internal project schedules, milestones, deliverables, and drawing packages to maintain workflow efficiency Review and respond to submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings to ensure alignment with design intent Participate in site visits and provide support during construction, assisting in field coordination and problem-solving Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in architecture or interior design (candidates with up to 8 years of experience are encouraged to apply; role responsibilities and compensation will be aligned with experience level) Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design Proficiency in SketchUp, Rhino, Enscape (or equivalent rendering tools), AutoCAD, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite Demonstrated experience on high-end residential projects from concept design through construction Experience preparing comprehensive Construction Document (CD) sets for review and permitting Strong visual communication skills with a refined graphic sensibility Working knowledge of project management processes, construction administration, budget review, building codes, consultant coordination, and client communication Familiarity with California building codes and permitting processes Clear and professional communicator with a calm, organized, and self-directed approach to work Ability to work in a fast-paced, detail-oriented residential environment Position Details Schedule: 40 hrs/week Duration: Full Time Benefits: Medical/Dental/Vision/Life Insurance Benefits, 401k, PTO, Performance Bonus To Apply At ZWP, designers are involved in both design and development processes, gaining exposure beyond traditional studio roles.
