Structure of the Internship
Interns are typically assigned tasks on a week-to-week basis, allowing exposure to a variety of projects and team members. As the internship progresses, interns may be placed on a dedicated project, working more closely with a designer to provide consistent support and gain deeper project experience. This intern will also receive intentional mentorship from various team leaders. The team will assess each intern’s strengths and provide opportunities and exposure to further develop and deepen those skill sets. Reporting Structure
This role reports to the Junior Designer and Design Assistant.Design Support- Assist the design team across all phases of projects, from concept through installation.Prepare presentation materials, including layouts, collages, and visual decks.Support sourcing efforts for furniture, materials, and finishes.Studio & Office Operations- Maintain organization of the sample library and project trays.Visit the D&D Building to source and pull samples as needed.Assist with inventory management, including tracking and organizing items alongside the team.Administrative SupportInput and maintain data for furniture schedules and inventory systems.Provide general administrative assistance to support project workflows.Project & Installation SupportAssist with sending and receiving packages, and coordinating pickups.Help coordinate with vendors and contractors during install phases.Qualifications- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, and/or Rhino3D is highly beneficial.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.A collaborative mindset and willingness to support a variety of tasks.Interest in learning across both creative and operational aspects of a design studio.
