Job Summary
We are seeking a creative, collaborative Interior Designer to design and document solutions that support our client’s goals and lead the interior design project team throughout all phases of the project. You will work closely with, mentor, and be mentored by our talented, dedicated team of interior designers, architects, project managers, and principals.
Responsibilities
Develop interior design solutions that meet our client’s goals.
Active in all phases of client projects; SD, DD, CD, B/P, and CA.
Proficient with furniture and finishes research, selection, and specification.
Works with FF&E dealers and product representatives.
Participates in the coordination process with consultants, MEP, etc.
Coordinates and oversees the work of interior design project team members.
Provides mentorship to junior team members.
Participates in client meetings.
Creates plans and 3D renderings. Creates and assembles presentation drawings, finish boards, and other materials.
Creates CD sets and follows Studio GC drawing standards. Responsible for quality checking their own work and reviewing the work of team members.
Participates in the submittal process. Assist with addenda sketches and drawing revisions, as needed.
Assists with the permitting process and response letters, as needed.
Participates in the punch-list walk-through and follow-up process.
Requirements
8 or more years of relevant experience.
Bachelors or Master of Interior Design from an accredited university.
Collaborate, positive, and fun team player.
Local candidate. Able to attend client job site meetings, in person, in Chicago suburbs.
Proactive communicator with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proven success at meeting project deadlines while working on multiple projects.
Proven proficiency in owning and successfully completing interior design assignments with minimal or no supervision.
Experience with successfully managing the work of other team members
Experience selecting furniture and finishes, and working with furniture dealers and product representatives.
Working knowledge of building codes and standard construction methods.
NCIDQ certification preferred but not required.
Proficiency in Revit required.
Proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook required.
Working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign preferred.
Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
