About this role

Come Help Build the Next Generation of Vacation Homes The Dancing Palms is a growing, design-driven vacation home brand on Fort Myers Beach. We design, build, furnish, restyle, and manage distinctive vacation homes that combine exceptional guest experiences with thoughtful design and long-term investment performance. As our portfolio continues to grow, we are creating a new generation of homes of all sizes including larger five-, six-, and seven-bedroom vacation homes that raise the standard for large-group stays on Fort Myers Beach. We are looking for a designer with vacation rental design experience and new-construction build-selection experience who wants to help shape the future of The Dancing Palms brand. This is an opportunity to help build something from within—not simply join another interior design firm. The Opportunity You will work directly with Alicia, Founder and Creative Director, helping bring vacation homes to life from the earliest stages of inspiration through final installation and styling. Our projects include: Complete vacation home furnishing New-construction build selections Vacation home restyles and design uplifts Initially, you will collaborate closely with Alicia while learning The Dancing Palms approach to design and execution. As trust and experience grow, you will take increasing ownership of projects while continuing to collaborate on major creative, budget, and brand decisions. This is an opportunity to help shape a growing brand, contribute to meaningful projects, and grow alongside a company with an ambitious vision for the future. What You’ll Do Visit properties, take measurements, photograph spaces, and evaluate design opportunities. Help develop the creative vision and inspiration for each project. Create furniture layouts, space plans, mood boards, and design presentations. Source furnishings, lighting, artwork, décor, accessories, and finish materials through retail, trade, wholesale, local, and online resources. Work within established budgets and timelines while maximizing design impact. Evaluate existing furnishings and determine what should be retained, relocated, restyled, repurposed, or replaced. Create layered, cohesive interiors that give each home its own distinct identity. Develop and coordinate new-construction build selections alongside Alicia. Source flooring, tile, cabinetry, countertops, plumbing fixtures, lighting, hardware, paint, and other interior and exterior finishes. Organize build-selection schedules and meet critical construction deadlines. Review architectural plans with company leadership from a design and functionality perspective. Visit job sites throughout construction and installation. Coordinate furniture deliveries, installations, project timelines, and final styling. Style completed homes for professional photography and entry into the vacation rental program. Manage multiple active projects with exceptional organization and attention to detail. Use AI and other design tools to improve efficiency and support the creative process. What Makes You Successful in This Role Great designers do not simply select beautiful products. They create cohesive homes where every decision supports a clear vision and experience. You have a trained eye for scale, proportion, visual weight, layering, lighting, composition, and restraint. You know how to create spaces that feel balanced, intentional, and memorable. You understand that exceptional design is about perception. You know how to establish focal points, create visual hierarchy, guide the eye through a space, and make a home feel significantly more elevated than its budget. You genuinely enjoy sourcing and have the patience to search for the right solution—not simply the first acceptable option. At the same time, you have the confidence and judgment to recognize when you have found the right piece and move the project forward. You take ownership of your work, care about every detail, respect every dollar invested, and believe each home deserves its own clear character and identity. You understand the new-construction build-selection process as a complete design system. You know how finishes work together, understand the sequence of decisions, and keep selections moving through critical deadlines. You are organized, collaborative, and excited by the opportunity to help build something designed to scale. The Dancing Palms has a bold vision for the future, and we are looking for someone who is energized by growth, excited by new challenges, and motivated by the opportunity to be part of a more thoughtful, design-driven approach to vacation home investment on Fort Myers Beach.
