About this role
Interior Designer, Selections Coordination for residential construction projects by:
1. Listening to key information shared by client, surveying existing situations quickly and thoughtfully, filtering all inputs for the few priority points in each area.
2. Providing visually appealing presentations of selections for sales and pre-construction meetings (using Canva or other)
3. Assisting in finish construction material selections and purchases including kitchen & bath items, cabinets, countertops, hardware, plumbing fixtures, electrical fixtures, flooring, fireplaces, decks, doors, windows, shingles, siding materials, trim, finishes, colors, built-ins, and other finish materials.
4. Sourcing product recommendations of varying price points, quality levels, etc.
5. Providing virtual selection input, recording, and management
6. Providing alternate ideas to clients depending on their project needs and desires
7. Managing, Documenting, and Keeping Permanent Records of design changes and design development.
8. Ordering materials and selections as approved by Project Manager
Miscellaneous Job duties, skills & requirements:
1. Attend and coordinate meetings with Owner, Site Supervisors, Architect, Engineers, Subcontractors, and Accountant as needed.
2. Keep written minutes and action items on important meetings.
3. Must be able to use basic Excel spreadsheets and Microsoft word for project documentation.
4. Experience or knowledge of drafting software (Revit, Sketch Up, Soft Plan)
5. Capable of creating perspectives, 3D renderings, floor plans, elevations, etc.
6. Must have strong organizational and time-management skills with a detail-oriented approach.
7. Must be able to move quickly for demanding clients, trying to discern their needs before they do.
8. Should be able to read basic plans, take simple measurements of plans.
9. Should be able to use Trello, BuilderTrend and other programs with training.
10. Have the ability to make simple sketches/drawings to inform/communicate rough or finish work; explain a construction change, or finish details/ideas for cabinets, built ins, etc.
11. Be able to create scaled, dimensional drawings for field installations of designed areas – rooms, showers, kitchens, built-ins, etc.
12. Assist with BuilderTrend selections and allowance management.
Bonus Skills:
1. Capable of architectural design
2. Knowledge of additional helpful tools such as Adobe photoshop & illustrator, Color Theory, Bluebeam, etc.
Expected hours: weekdays between 8 am and 5 pm. Client consultations sometimes need to occur in evenings or on weekends. We are a growing company, so your role may change as we grow.
