Interior designer (part time)

Part-Time Interior Designer Newport Coast, CA | In Person | 24 hrs/week We are seeking an experienced Part-Time Interior Designer / Junior Designer to join our team in our Newport Coast office. This role supports high-end residential projects and works closely with the principal designer on all phases of design. This is an in-person position with occasional travel to project sites in Montecito, Ojai, and surrounding areas. This is not a training role, so we are looking for someone with solid professional experience who can contribute immediately and work independently with confidence. About the Role You will assist with design development, drafting, sourcing, project coordination, and client presentation preparation while helping ensure projects run smoothly from concept through installation. Responsibilities Assist with interior space planning, elevations, and design developmentCreate drawings in CAD and 3D models in SketchUpSource furniture, finishes, and lighting, and prepare client presentationsSupport project timelines, budgets, and installationsTrack orders, lead times, and deliveries using ExcelCommunicate professionally with vendors, showrooms, trades, and occasionally clientsSupport marketing content for Instagram and other platformsMaintain organized digital files and physical project bindersQualifications Minimum 3 years of experience in an interior design firmStrong proficiency in SketchUp and CADStrong space planning and drafting skillsAbility to take direction and work independentlyHighly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projectsProfessional communication skills and polished presentationReliable transportation for commuting and site visitsSchedule & Location In person: Tuesday–Thursday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PMApproximately 24 hours per weekNewport Coast, CA office with occasional travel to Montecito / OjaiCompensation $35.00–$45.00 per hour, depending on experience To Apply Please submit: ResumePortfolio (PDF or link) showcasing relevant interior design work2–3 professional referencesA brief note about your SketchUp/CAD experience and availability
