Interior Designer (Part-time / 1099 / Austin, TX)

RITUALS is a multi-state creative studio specializing in interior decoration and design concepts, with various residential and commercial projects. Our boutique, hospitality-driven design studio is seeking a highly creative, Interior Designer to join us on a part-time, 1099 basis. You’re conceptually strong, technically sharp, and thrive in a collaborative, design-forward environment. You think beyond the expected, love sourcing beautiful, intentional to-the-trade products, and can move seamlessly from big-picture ideas to on-site execution. You'll communicate with clients with confidence in order to assess their needs and create designs based on conversations and within budget. DETAILS Hours: Part-Time, Flexible Location: Austin, TX - Local Only! (Mostly Remote+ Hybrid) Type: 1099 independent contractor, must have remote work capabilities (computer with access to internet, etc.). Austin-based + able to support site visits + design related tasks + errands within the metro area. RESPONSIBILITIES (What you'll do) Include but are not limited to: Develop thoughtful, hospitality-inspired concepts Create polished presentations + documentations Source furniture, finishes + materials with intention Communicate with teammates, clients, potential clients, vendors, contractors, etc. throughout project lifespan Arrange + conduct site visits for client +/or vendor meetings Accuracy on site — measuring, documenting + collaborating with GCs, vendors + clients Assess the needs of each project with a very high attention to detail Obtain accurate estimates + bids Deliver + pick-up samples/materials from clients + vendors Maintain industry knowledge to stay relevant QUALIFICATIONS + EXPECTATIONS (What you bring) 5+ years at a design firm Strong proficiency in CAD, InDesign + Photoshop Exceptional creativity + a refined design point of view A proactive, solution-based mindset Very high attention to detail with a sense of urgency + accuracy Impeccable verbal + written communication skills Independent, self-starter with the ability to adapt through frequent pivots Proficiency in Google applications (Gmail, Google Drive, Google Sheets, Calendar, etc.) Must be able to work independently + follow direction Ability to receive constructive feedback + is unafraid to ask questions + seek clarity on all aspects of design + business REQUIRED Experienced with CAD + own license/subscription Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud + Photoshop + InDesign + own license/subscription Drivers license with own means of transportation + flexibility to travel locally or out of state as needed https://www.wearerituals.com/ Rituals LLC is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate against any applicant on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, gender, marital status, age, disability, sexual orientation, military/veteran status, or any other status protected by federal or state law or local ordinance.
