Elizabeth Stuart | Interior Designer Position Overview The Interior Designer at Elizabeth Stuart is an integral member of the design team, responsible for supporting and executing high-level residential and commercial interior design projects with a primary focus on multi-family, workplace, and hospitality environments. This role requires a strong understanding of the full design process from concept development and sourcing through specification, procurement, installation, and construction administration. Working closely with the Managing Design Director and the broader Elizabeth Stuart design team, the Interior Designer will help bring the firm’s vision to life through thoughtful design solutions, meticulous project coordination, and a strong command of materials, furnishings, finishes, and vendor relationships. This individual must be highly organized, design-driven, and capable of managing multiple projects while balancing client expectations, timelines, budgets, and billing requirements. The ideal candidate brings creativity, resourcefulness, and a deep appreciation for both the design and operational sides of the business, while maintaining a high standard of professionalism in all client, vendor, and consultant interactions. Key Responsibilities Project Design & Execution Support the execution of residential and commercial design projects from concept through installation, with a primary focus on multi-family, workplace, and hospitality-driven interiors.Translate the Elizabeth Stuart design vision into thoughtful, functional, and elevated interiors that align with each project’s scope, brand, and client goals.Develop design concepts, furniture plans, finish palettes, elevations, and supporting presentation materials for client review and approval.Source furnishings, textiles, lighting, hardware, art, accessories, and vintage pieces through domestic and international vendors, ensuring selections align with project design intent, budget, and lead time requirements.Prepare design presentations, pricing packages, sample requests, and specification materials in support of project development and approvals.Project Management & Coordination Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining clear oversight of timelines, deliverables, budgets, and client expectations.Coordinate all phases of the purchasing process, including vendor quotes, client estimates, purchase orders, invoicing, payment tracking, and order follow-up.Track project budgets, billing, and invoicing in partnership with Elizabeth Stuart accounting and client teams.Maintain organized project documentation, specifications, schedules, and procurement records throughout the life of each project.Ensure all project activity is executed with attention to detail, timeliness, and financial accuracy.Construction Administration & Vendor Coordination Support construction administration efforts by coordinating with contractors, consultants, and vendor partners throughout the execution phase of a project.Work alongside external teams to develop and track schedules related to interior finishes, lighting, furniture installation, IT/AV requirements, and MEP coordination.Review shop drawings, vendor specifications, and project documentation to ensure alignment with approved design plans and project requirements.Participate in site visits, installation oversight, punch-list review, and project follow-up to ensure successful project delivery.Partner Collaboration Serve as a key point of support to the Managing Design Director and broader design team on projects and strategic design initiatives.Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, vendors, consultants, contractors, and preferred commercial partners.Generate and pursue new client leads with presentations, outreach, and visual marketing materials to support the company growth strategy. Act as a secondary liaison to residential and commercial partners, including CBI and other preferred vendors and project collaborators.Learn and apply the Greystar 360 design approach as it relates to corporate office project standards and client expectations.Represent Elizabeth Stuart with professionalism, responsiveness, and a solutions-oriented mindset in all project communications.Business Development & Client Growth Support the growth of Elizabeth Stuart’s residential and commercial design business by actively contributing to business development efforts, relationship building, and new project generation.Cultivate new client opportunities through networking, prospecting, industry events, community engagement, and strategic outreach.Build and maintain relationships with developers, builders, property managers, architects, consultants, and other referral partners to help drive both residential and commercial project opportunities.Identify potential project leads and support the conversion of prospects into active design clients through thoughtful follow-up, presentations, and relationship management.Represent Elizabeth Stuart in a polished and professional manner within the local market and broader design community, helping to elevate brand visibility and awareness.Represent Elizabeth Stuart in a polished and professional manner within the local market and broader design community, helping to elevate brand visibility and awareness.Partner with leadership to support initiatives that expand the firm’s commercial and residential project pipeline. Travel & On-Site Support Travel as needed for client meetings, project presentations, site visits, installations, and project coordination, both in-state and out-of-state.Provide on-site support during installations and key project milestones to ensure the design is executed to Elizabeth Stuart standards.Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or a related field preferred.3–5+ years of interior design experience, with exposure to residential, commercial, multi-family, workplace, or hospitality projects preferred.Strong understanding of the interior design process, including sourcing, specification, procurement, and construction administration.Experience managing multiple projects, budgets, schedules, and procurement details simultaneously.Proficiency in design presentation development, furniture planning, finish selection, and client-facing communication. Strong software knowledge utilizing AutoCAD and/or Revit for generating floor plans, elevations, and visuals. Additional software experience preferred in Photoshop, Google Sketchup, and/or AI generated platforms.Strong vendor knowledge and sourcing capabilities across furniture, textiles, lighting, hardware, and accessories.Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive with strong follow-through and time management skills.Collaborative, flexible, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced, high-touch design environment.
