Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Interior Design Sales Professional role based in the Greater Boston area. The Interior Design Sales Professional will work with clients in the showroom to understand their aesthetic preferences, functional needs, and budgets, and will develop design concepts, furniture layouts, and product suggestions that align with the Cabot House brand. Day-to-day responsibilities include guiding clients through upholstery, fabric, finish, and configuration options; preparing proposals and quotes; managing orders from selection through delivery; and ensuring an exceptional, concierge-level client experience. The role involves collaborating with in-house and trade designers, maintaining an inspiring and well-merchandised showroom, and staying current on product lines, design trends, and vendor offerings. The Interior Design Sales Professional will also be responsible for meeting sales targets, following up on leads, building long-term client relationships, and leveraging digital tools to support presentations and communications. Qualifications Interior design and space-planning skills, including the ability to create cohesive room concepts and furniture layouts that reflect client needs and brand standards. Sales and client relationship skills, with experience in consultative selling, closing transactions, and building repeat business in a luxury or design-oriented environment. Product and materials knowledge relevant to furniture, upholstery, fabrics, finishes, window treatments, lighting, and related home furnishings. Visual presentation skills, including proficiency in creating mood boards, design presentations, and visually compelling displays within the showroom. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to listen carefully, present ideas clearly, and collaborate effectively with clients, colleagues, and trade professionals. Organizational and follow-through skills, including managing multiple projects, tracking orders, and handling detailed client specifications accurately. Comfort with technology, such as POS systems, CRM tools, design or floor-planning software, and standard office applications (e.g., email, spreadsheets, presentations). Previous
