About this role
We are a growing interior design and furniture rental company looking for a highly organized, self-motivated Interior Design & Operations Assistant to support both the creative and operational sides of our business.
This is a hands-on hybrid position. Some days may involve creating mood boards and updating project spreadsheets from your laptop; other days may involve receiving furniture, assembling pieces, preparing for an installation, or assisting on-site at a client's home.
We are looking for someone who is comfortable working independently, takes initiative, and doesn't need constant direction to stay productive.
What You'll Do
Design + Administrative Support
Create interior design mood boards and client-facing presentationsAssist with furniture, décor, and accessory selectionsUse Canva to create and update design materialsMaintain project spreadsheets, furniture lists, inventory information, and other digital recordsAssist with general administrative and organizational tasksHelp keep projects organized and moving forwardProvide basic design input and direction when neededWarehouse + Installation Support
Receive and organize furniture and décor deliveriesMove packages and furniture within our warehouseAssemble furniture such as beds, nightstands, dressers, tables, chairs, and other piecesPrepare and organize furniture for upcoming installationsAssist during client installation and de-installation daysHelp direct furniture placement and styling during installsMaintain an organized warehouse and project staging areaWe're Looking for Someone Who
Has a genuine interest in interior design, furniture, and home décorHas previous design experience or a strong natural design eyeCan confidently create cohesive mood boardsIs proficient with CanvaIs comfortable using spreadsheets and learning new technologyIs comfortable working on a MacBookIs extremely organized and detail-orientedIs self-motivated and able to work independentlyTakes initiative and can identify what needs to be done without being constantly managedIs professional, dependable, and punctualHas a positive, solutions-oriented attitudeIs comfortable assembling furniture and using basic toolsCan safely lift and move up to 50 lbsIs comfortable working in both professional client environments and a warehouse settingHas reliable transportation and availability for scheduled installation daysIdeal Background
Experience in one or more of the following is preferred:
Interior design or interior decoratingHome stagingFurniture or home décor retailDesign assistanceAdministrative or project coordinationFurniture installation or assemblyFormal interior design education is a plus, but good taste, strong organizational skills, reliability, and the ability to get things done are equally important to us.
About the Role
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys variety and doesn't want to sit behind a desk all day. You'll have the opportunity to participate in the full process — from helping develop a design concept to seeing the finished space come together on installation day.
We are a small, growing company, so we're looking for someone who can become a trusted part of the team and take increasing ownership of responsibilities over time.
