Job Overview
Join our team as a Interior Design Intern and immerse yourself in the exciting world of interior architecture and space planning! The Design Intern supports both the design and procurement sides of active projects — from technical documentation to vendor outreach and on-site exposure. This paid internship role is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience across the full lifecycle of a design-build project.
Duration: 12-week paid internship
Hours: Monday - Thursday 9am - 3pm
Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation, updating, and distribution of CAD drawings and project drawing sets, incorporating design markups and updates as needed
Generate Studio Designer reports including spec sheets and material schedules for distribution to the construction team
Enter procured items and technical specifications into Studio Designer, ensuring accuracy and up-to-date records
Reach out to vendors for quotes, material samples, and product research
Assist in coordinating with the construction team on design and procurement-related needs
Join on-site meetings and site visits to gain direct exposure to construction sequencing, progress, and design intent
Support day-to-day AutoCAD tasks as needed across active projects
Experience
Currently enrolled in an accredited interior design, architecture, or related program.
Basic Proficiency with AutoCAD
Basic understanding of drafting techniques, CAD standards, color theory principles, and interior design fundamentals.
Familiarity with construction processes, remodeling procedures, contracts management, and lighting sales is a plus.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently within deadlines.
Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and clients.
