Position Overview The Interior Design Intern supports the Design team in bringing creative concepts to life while gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This role is ideal for a driven design student who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a professional design firm. You will assist in project development, material sourcing, vendor coordination, and client support while learning Custer’s processes and best practices. Design & Project Support Assist with finish selections and development of presentation boards throughout various project phasesSupport designers in research and sourcing of materials, furnishings, and resourcesExplore a range of vendors and product solutions to help keep Custer diversified and on the leading edge of designHelp in the field as needed, supporting installations and site visits Library & Resource Management Maintain the design library, materials, and product literatureSet up and participate in manufacturer representative presentationsUpdate staff on relevant new products and literature as they become available Logistics & Coordination Deliver materials to local clients or prepare items for shippingVisit local vendors to select and/or pick up project resourcesAssist in organizing materials and documentation for client meetings Team & Cultural Alignment Follow Custer’s processes and best practicesSupport the Design Department’s strategic goals and objectivesEmbrace and demonstrate Custer’s core values in daily work Skills & Attributes Knowledge of design thinking and design strategiesResponds well to mentorship and guided directionStrong desire for continuous improvement and professional growthCreative thinker who contributes ideas to keep Custer’s design work innovative and relevantSelf-starter who is ambitious, driven, and eager to contributeAdaptable and open to change, excited to take on new responsibilitiesExcellent communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate ideasStrong organizational and time management skills; able to stay on task and meet deadlinesProfessional demeanor and ability to engage with clients Education & Requirements Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from an accredited design schoolMust have successfully completed sophomore year to applyAbility to work a minimum of 15 hours per weekMust have a valid driver's license
