Interior Design Director

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Interior Design Director to lead our interior design team in creating innovative, functional, and aesthetically captivating spaces. This role offers the opportunity to oversee large-scale residential interior projects from concept through completion, ensuring design excellence, client satisfaction, and adherence to building codes and budgets. As a key leader, you will drive creative vision, manage project teams, and collaborate closely with clients, contractors, and vendors to deliver exceptional interior environments that elevate living experiences. Duties Lead the development of comprehensive interior design concepts for residential projects, integrating client needs with innovative design solutions. Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery while maintaining high standards of quality and creativity. Oversee the creation of detailed drawings and construction documentation using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Rhino 3D, and Bluebeam. Develop compelling CAD presentations and 3D renderings to communicate design ideas effectively to clients and stakeholders. Conduct building code analysis and ensure all designs comply with local regulations and safety standards. Collaborate with clients throughout the project lifecycle to refine designs, present proposals, and incorporate feedback seamlessly. Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and lighting specialists to ensure accurate execution of designs, including lighting sales and remodeling specifics. Prepare detailed construction documents including specifications for materials, finishes, lighting fixtures, and furniture. Manage project budgets by estimating costs accurately and overseeing procurement processes while maintaining profitability. Lead design meetings with internal teams and external partners to align project goals and resolve any issues promptly. Utilize BIM tools like Revit for Building Information Modeling to streamline workflows and enhance coordination across disciplines. Ensure all projects meet high standards of sustainability, building code compliance, and aesthetic integrity. Qualifications Proven experience in managing interior design projects with a strong portfolio showcasing residential interiors. Expertise in CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Rhino 3D, Bluebeam, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), and graphic design tools. Strong knowledge of 3D modeling for architectural design and rendering techniques for realistic visualizations. Solid understanding of building code analysis, construction detail documentation, and BIM workflows. Excellent project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple projects from conception through construction while managing budgets effectively. Experience in lighting design sales and renovation projects is highly desirable. Exceptional client communication skills with a talent for translating client visions into actionable designs. Knowledge of color theory, interior design principles, construction experience, remodeling processes, and building information modeling (BIM). Ability to lead a creative team while fostering collaboration across disciplines to achieve innovative results.
