About this role

Position Summary We’re hiring a reliable, self-motivated Interior Design Assistant who can work independently and travel to job sites using their own car. You’ll play a crucial role in supervising project installations, collecting samples, managing material libraries, and ensuring every detail is executed to a high standard. This role offers a behind-the-scenes look into high-end design projects and is ideal for someone who enjoys being in the field and taking ownership of tasks. Key ResponsibilitiesOn-Site Supervision & Quality Control • Independently visit job sites to oversee deliveries and installations • Perform quality checks to ensure furniture and products arrive in perfect condition • Liaise with vendors, tradespeople, and contractors on-site • Document progress with photos and notes, and communicate updates to the principal designer Vendor Visits & Material Management • Drive to showrooms, vendors, and suppliers to pick up and return samples • Organize and maintain the studio’s material and finish library • Assist in sourcing alternate options when needed based on availability Project Coordination & Communication • Maintain and update project schedules and delivery timelines • Proactively communicate with vendors and trades to ensure deadlines are met • Coordinate logistics with receiving warehouses and on-site teams Day-to-Day Support • Follow through drawings and source furnishings and furniture • Handle errands related to sourcing, pickups, or returns • Support styling and install days with prep, unpacking, and staging • Support order tracking and documentation Requirements • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision • Own a reliable car and valid driver's license (mileage reimbursement provided) • Strong communication and organizational skills • Background or interest in interior design, architecture, or project coordination • Able to lift small boxes and move light furniture • Proficiency in ACAD, Sketchup, Design Files, Google Sheets, Docs, and basic file management (a plus) Why Join Us? • Work with a growing interior design firm known for thoughtful, story-driven spaces • Flexible hours and a dynamic mix of tasks – no two days are the same • Direct mentorship and opportunities to grow into a full design or project management role To Apply: Send your resume, short cover letter, and portfolio, any relevant experience to sonniia@daastann.com.
