Description Job Summary... Interior Design Assistant provides administrative and clerical support to Interior Designers. Responsibilities • Maintain materials library and update vendor catalogs/pricelists. • Contact vendors for sample requests/information on products. • Help with inventory maintenance • Excellent in team collaboration and communication skills • Creative talent, an imagination and eye for design • Follows and stays on schedule with assigned tasks. • Ability to communicate with both internal and external clients. • Work closely with designers, architects, lighting designers, manufacturers and vendors • Research and follow industry changes, evolutions and best practice • Assist designers with tasks as required, i.e. generating specifications, product research, etc. • Assist with ordering samples for use in assembling physical spec books- this will require keeping inventory of binders, mat board, labels, etc. Requirements • Excellent teamwork skills. Ability to work collaboratively with design directors and creative managing directors across the firm • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail. Outstanding communication skills. • Proven industry experience with common industry software applications such as Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and Revu Blue Beam • Experience building, nurturing and fostering vendor relationships. • Strong writing skills (narratives, specifications, strategy, meeting minutes, etc.) • Knowledge of FF&E and finish selections suitable for hospitality design applications which include fire codes, wearability, ADA, etc. Value Added • Has initiative, great attention to details, and follow-through.
