Brief Company Overview SEI is a design-build firm creating luxury custom residences across Greater Los Angeles. Architecture, interior design, and construction are integrated under one roof, allowing a tightly held team to shepherd every project from concept through completion. We work on some of the most ambitious homes being built in LA. Interior Design Associate : Schondorf Enterprises, Inc. — Los Angeles, CA We are seeking a motivated Interior Design Associate to join our team. This is a junior-level position designed for someone passionate about interior design who wants to learn, grow, and gain real-world experience in the custom home industry. In this role, you’ll gain hands-on exposure to high-end residential projects, client coordination, and material selections , all while being mentored by experienced team members who are invested in your success. At Schondorf Enterprises, you’ll move beyond theory into real-world application, working alongside a talented architectural team with direct insight from our construction experts. This unique blend of design and build experience will help you flourish in developing interior design programs that are set up for success. Roles & Responsibilities As an Interior Design Associate at SEI, you will: Assist in the development of interior design concepts for custom homes. Support the selection process for finishes, fixtures, and materials. CAD support, and presentation development Draft layouts, elevations, and detail drawings in CAD or BIM software. Sample pickup, library organization, and material research Purchase order creation, order tracking, and vendor follow-up Selection tracking, receiving and inspection, and install-day support Coordination with vendors, install-side trades, and jobsite teams Participate in client meetings, take notes, and track action items. Provide day-to-day support to the design team on ongoing projects. * Reports directly to the Interior Design Director; works with CEO on some projects. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about design, detail-oriented, and eager to grow. Ideally you have: Bilingual English / Korean (preferred) Proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp; working knowledge of Excel / Google Sheets Interior Design coursework, degree, or equivalent experience (advanced students welcome) Organized and thorough, with strong attention to detail and consistent follow-through Curious about the products, materials, and methods behind luxury residential work Reliable personal vehicle, valid CA driver's license, and legal authorization to work in the US Adobe Suite (InDesign, Photoshop) A genuine interest in interior design and the drive to keep learning and improving beyond a degree. Strong collaboration and communication skills. A positive, team-oriented attitude and willingness to learn. Strong eye for detail and aesthetics. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. A strong sense of style, color, materials, and finishes. Curiosity to research vendors and attend industry events.
