Interior Design Assistant
Grosse Pointe, Michigan
A luxury interior design studio in Grosse Pointe is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Interior Design Assistant to support the Principal Designers with project coordination, design development, and studio operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both the creative and administrative sides of interior design and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Project Management & Coordination
Assist with the coordination and execution of active residential design projects
Track selections, specifications, and key project decisions throughout each phase of the design process
Monitor lead times, purchase orders, shipment status, deliveries, and installation schedules
Maintain organized and accurate digital project files and documentation
Support communication with vendors, contractors, and project partners as needed
Design Support
Prepare digital client presentations with CAD drawings, design boards, and selection packages
Participate in site visits, project meetings, and field measurements
Support installation days and project styling as needed
Studio Operations
Maintain and organize the studio sample library, materials, and resources
Assist with inventory management and sample returns
Support marketing initiatives, including social media content, website updates, and portfolio maintenance =
Qualifications
Proficiency in CAD and Canva
Basic understanding of residential construction processes, materials, and industry terminology
Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Positive attitude, professionalism, willingness to learn, team player
Reliable transportation for site visits, vendor meetings, and project installations
Compensation
$20.00–$30.00 per hour with benefits, compensation based on experience and qualifications.
